In high school my family went on a trip to Italy for ten days. With seemingly no warning I took nine rolls of film on that trip, using a dinky little point-and-shoot camera that I still love and occasionally even use!
Upon returning from the trip we decided that maybe I should enroll in my school’s darkroom photography class. Many chemicals later, this landed me as a photography major at Northeastern University in Boston. “That’s not an art school,” you may say. That's actually what I valued most out of my experience there! My department was small but the teachers were great, and I got exposed to so many other people and their journeys.
Fast forward through a myriad of cameras, part-time jobs, strange apartments, and shoots with very compliant friends. The Bay Area took me in eight years ago and I can’t imagine being elsewhere! I now live with my husband and make him eat annoyingly healthy foods and go on walks all of the time. Most of my free time is spent playing soccer, attempting to make our cat & dog get along, and placing high-stakes bets on Top Chef.
Weddings fit so naturally into my sensibilities because they involve every type of photography in one action-packed day! I love all aspects of the day, from the the soft window light of getting-ready, to stealthily capturing emotional ceremonies, to the tear-jerker speeches. And of course, my favorite part, creating beautiful couples portraits! Getting married was an amazing eye-opener into the value of wedding photos and the couple's perspective. I truly love being deeply involved in every aspect of my clients’ weddings, and appreciate the trust placed in me on such an intimate day. It's such a cool thing, and I'm here to help you remember it all.
